Business: VDB Electrical Services

1. DEFINITIONS

  • 1.1 "The Contractor" refers to VDB Electrical Services, its successors and assigns, or any person acting on behalf of and with the authority of VDB Electrical Services.
  • 1.2 "The Client" refers to the person/s requesting the works to be carried out.
  • 1.3 "Works" refers to all services, installation, and advice provided by the Contractor to the Client.
  • 1.4 "Hardware" refers to EV Chargers, cabling, switchgear, and safety components supplied by the Contractor.

2. QUOTES, PRICING & VARIATIONS

2.1 "From" Pricing & Standard Installation
All advertised prices starting "From" refer strictly to a "Standard Installation." A Standard Installation is defined as:

  • Single-phase connection.
  • The switchboard being located within 15 meters of the charger location.
  • Surface-mounted conduit pathway (no trenching, lifting of pavers, or concealment behind finished walls).
  • An existing switchboard with available space and sufficient electrical capacity (RCBO protection).

2.2 Non-Standard Works
Any requirements outside this scope (including but not limited to 3-phase upgrades, trenching, asbestos handling, or switchboard upgrades) will be quoted as additional costs.

2.3 Fixed Quote Guarantee
The "Fixed Quote" applies strictly to the scope of works listed in the proposal based on the initial visual inspection. We guarantee there will be no surprise charges on your final invoice. However, if a variation is required due to Latent Conditions that could not be reasonably identified during visual inspection (e.g., discovery of rock, asbestos, illegal pre-existing wiring, or hidden structural obstructions), work will cease immediately. VDB Electrical Services will seek client approval for any variation cost before proceeding. If declined, the Client is liable only for works completed up to that point.

2.4 Pre-Existing Electrical Faults
The installation of mandatory safety switches (RCBOs) may uncover latent electrical faults in the property's existing wiring (e.g., nuisance tripping on other circuits). Rectification of pre-existing faults is not included in the quote and will be charged as a variation.

3. BOOKINGS, PAYMENT & CANCELLATIONS

  • 3.1 Payment Terms: A deposit may be required to secure the booking. The remaining balance is due strictly upon completion of works.
  • 3.2 Retention of Title: All Hardware supplied remains the property of VDB Electrical Services until payment has been received in full. In the event of non-payment, the Client grants VDB Electrical Services permission to enter the premises and reclaim the Hardware.
  • 3.3 Cancellations: Cancellations or rescheduling requests made less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled booking may incur a cancellation fee of $150 or forfeiture of the booking deposit.
  • 3.4 Overdue Payments: VDB Electrical Services reserves the right to charge interest on overdue invoices at a rate of 2.5% per calendar month, plus any debt recovery costs incurred.

4. WARRANTIES & GUARANTEES

4.1 "Total Peace of Mind" Protection (Supply & Install)
This service applies exclusively to clients who purchase a "Supply & Install" package where VDB Electrical Services sources the hardware. VDB’s Role: We act as the warranty agent. If a hardware fault occurs within the manufacturer's warranty period, we will manage the claim and attend the site to replace the unit at no additional cost to the Client.

4.2 "Install Only" Exclusions
For clients who supply their own hardware:

  • VDB Electrical Services guarantees installation workmanship only (5 Years).
  • We accept no liability for hardware faults. The Client is responsible for managing warranty claims with the manufacturer.
  • Site visits to troubleshoot or replace client-supplied hardware will incur a standard call-out fee.

4.3 The "$100 Reliability Pledge"

  • Scope: This pledge guarantees that VDB Electrical Services will rectify any valid workmanship defect identified at the time of completion or arrive within the scheduled 2-hour window (barring Force Majeure events).
  • Remedy: If a valid failure occurs, VDB Electrical Services will credit or donate $100 AUD.
  • Sign-Off: Upon completion, the Client will be asked to sign a satisfaction note. Any aesthetic or preference-based complaints raised after this sign-off are excluded from the Reliability Pledge.

5. INSTALLATION & SITE CONDITIONS

  • 5.1 Grid Limitations: Charging speeds are subject to the available capacity of the property's main switchboard and supply fuse. If load balancing or current limiting is required to comply with electrical safety standards or Distribution Network regulations, this does not constitute a defect in the product or service.
  • 5.2 Smart Features & IT Liability: VDB Electrical Services guarantees the physical connection of data cabling (if installed). However, we do not guarantee the performance of Wi-Fi, the Client’s Internet Service Provider (ISP), or the manufacturer’s software/cloud servers. Troubleshooting software, app, or network configuration issues is not included in the installation warranty and is a billable service.
  • 5.3 Site Access: The Client must ensure clear access to the work area. If work cannot proceed due to access issues (e.g., locked gates, pets), a call-out fee will apply.
  • 5.4 Restoration & Damage: VDB Electrical Services will clean up all trade debris. However, "making good" (e.g., patching plaster, painting, re-seeding grass) is the Client's responsibility unless specifically included in the quote. We accept no liability for minor cosmetic damage to aged/brittle surfaces (e.g., old render) during standard drilling.

6. LIABILITY

6.1 To the extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law, VDB Electrical Services shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss or damage arising out of the provision of Works.
